About us

Who we are, what we do, how to contact us

A Community Council is a voluntary organisation set up by statute by the Local Authority and run by local residents to act on behalf of its area. As the most local tier of elected representation, Community Councils play an important role in local democracy. Elections for the Community Council are held every 4 years. The last election was held in September 2023.

Cults Community Council has 8 Community Councillors and, we are happy to say, all positions are currently full.

As well as representing the views of the community to the local authority, the Community Council brings local people together to help make things happen for the community. It also works to protect and promote the identity of our community.

The Community Council is the strongest means of becoming involved with your community. It will give you a good understanding of the workings of local government and what is going on locally and nationally. Why don't you join us at our next event? All upcoming Community Council events (and other community organised events) are listed on our diary page.
